Libertarianz Open Letter To Georgina Te Heuheu

Libertarianz Open Letter To Georgina Te Heuheu

Cometh the Hour, Cometh ...

Dear Mrs Te Heuheu, As you stare out at me from my copies of this week's newspapers, I wonder for whom you are looking so haunted? For whom so distressed? I wonder.

Is your chief concern for your own political career - that proverbial 'rock and a hard place' thing? Or is it some concern for 'your own people'? Could it even be a genuine, though misguided, care for all of us who choose to be New Zealanders no matter where we are from, what colour our skin, or what our whakapapa?

I hope the truth of your distress is the latter, yet whatever the truth this much is clear: I see a woman who does not grasp that her greatest hour is at hand! And so, as a friend, I step forward and offer some important advice, which of course you are free to take or to leave; yet know that these words are written in good will.

The help 'our' people so desperately need has been laid before you, yet you don't know it. Now is a time for great courage.

My advice is this: that if you want to truly break Maori free from ill-health, from crime and violence, and from dependency on the state (and save your own political career in the process), then when you meet with Don Brash tell him you support him one-hundred percent and that you will stand by him through the coming months.

Tell Dr Brash to change your shadow portfolio to "The Deregulation" of Maori Affairs. You should do this because deregulation of the affairs of all Maori - unshackling them from a culture of state dependency - is the only way Maoridom will ever stand tall! You know this. Do this, and then start teaching Maori people to embrace freedom and justice and, most importantly, to teach their children that all mankind are 'Whanau' and that our rights as human beings are equal and must be respected.

This way they shall become people of Mana, people who excel not because they are given special treatment by politicians but because they are hard-working people who reap their own rewards by the sweat of their own brow and the honest labours of their own hands.

By doing this you will in fact achieve all your objectives. Not only will this secure your career, but - when time has proved your stand for equality has served to benefit the Maori people by causing them to stand upon the own feet 'as equals' - then truly you shall be hailed as a wise and far-seeing woman and a great benefactor not only of Maori but of all Kiwis.

For Maori shall know 'bye and bye' that freedom and equality are not merely friends of their culture, but essential to its well-being! For who truly wins who buys into a culture of state-dependency? Now is your hour!

Dr Brash speaks the truth about the effects of a politics of division, and when you examine your conscience you will know it. You, by your support for him or not, have been placed in a unique postition to do either good or ill. You are uniqely place to be able to further both your own ends and the ends of those you say you serve - your people, adn your party. I say to you this day: be honest, be true, and do what you know you must surely do.

Set your people free.

Yours sincerely Tim Wikiriwhi Libertarianz Spokesman to Deregulate Maori Affairs twikiriwhi@hotmail.com
