1/ Its official! the hikoi has been granted permission to cross the harbour bridge. its not everyday get to walk across the harbour bridge. all those who wish to join the hikoi on the 27th meet at Staffords Park. we will be marching south on the two outside northbound lanes. those bringing children please bring a pushchair or hold their hand thruout the hikoi the winds at the top of the bridge will be very cold so be prepared make sure you have good walking footwear if you have friends or flags etc plse bring them...... for more details contact the Tamaki organiser on 0211846701

8am convoy to Staffords Park from Hato Petera vehicles will be taken over to Westhaven

10am assemble at Staffords Parks (the big cluster of buildings on the left before Onewa Rd) hikoi to Westhaven convoy to Okahu Bay hikoi to Takaparawha

7.30pm - Korero Mai - TeRangiita Marae (Nukuhau)

Saturday 1 May, 2004:

6.00am - Karakia
7.30am - Breakfast
8.30am - Ready to leave marae and assemble at Tongariro Domain.
9.00am - Guest Speakers to attend Public Rally at Tongariro Domain, speak around Foreshore/Hikoi Take.
10.00am - Hikoi thru streets
12.30am - Lunch at Korohe Marae, Turangi.
2.00pm - Depart Korohe Marae, convoy to Raetihi.

We are asking everyone who is comming to Wellington for the Hikoi to be as self-sufficient as possible. Most ( if not all ) marae have been booked out. The organising roopu for Wellington have agreed to errect an accomodation tent at Chaffers Park on May 5th for whanau to come to for accomodation needs. What we hope to offer whanau is a box of kai for them to take and contact details for homestay.Names and addresses of those who would be able to host people for 1-2 nights Numbers that people could host. contact us on hikoi_accomadation@bigfoot.com We have 2 drop off points Chaffers Park Accomodation Tent May 5th or The Girlies Project 158 Cuba Street. If people are unable to host, another way to assist is to find out where your iwi is staying by getting in contact with the regional organisers.
