Nationalising Our Bodies: Enough Is Enough!

Nationalising Our Bodies: Enough is Enough !

"Brian Tamaki and the Destiny-Church-inspired 'Enough is Enough' marches are the work of mean-spirited moral ayatollahs that want to nationalise our bodies," announced Libertarianz Leader and candidate for Wellington Regional Council Bernard Darnton today.

"Libertarianz rejects wholeheartedly the agenda of the 'Enough is Enough' campaign: Libertarianz supports legalising gay and lesbian marriage; full legalisation of adult prostitution; and full deregulation of the supply of alcohol and drugs to adults," declared Darnton as he sipped on a glass of wine while perusing an adult publication.

"The 'Enough is Enough' campaign," says Darnton, "is about creating a new Dark Age in which criminilisation and persecution is to be the lot of gay and lesbian people, and of commercial sex workers and their customers; of producers, distributors and consumers of alcohol; and of those who enjoy and/or produce films and books with (gasp!) sexual content. All are to be punished with the new 'moral' righteousness of these perverse born-again zealots who are simply unable to mind their own business."

Darnton clarifies that Libertarianz unequivocably supports the right of Tamaki and supporters to express their views, and simply asks that the Tamaki tyrannosaurs respond in kind: that they themselves learn to respect the views and life choices of others. He is not optimistic however, and he points out the irony of Tamaki "wanting to ban films, videos, magazines and books that have sexual and violent content ... except, of course, for the bible!"

He concludes with some advice for the busybody zealots: "Leave peaceful adults alone. If they offend thee, then just go elsewhere!"
