More sightings of Tania - Operation Somme

More sightings of Tania - Operation Somme

A team of twenty officers were on the streets of Wanganui from 11 p.m. on Thursday, 13 January 2005 through to 11 a.m. on Friday, 14 January 2005, speaking to people who were out and about on the streets of Wanganui in the vicinity of the known route Tania took, including the scene where her body was located in the Wanganui River.

There has been another significant corroborated sighting of Tania at the Challenge Service Station at 2.35 a.m. on Friday, 7 January 2005. This is probably between the sighting at 2.28 a.m. outside WINZ near Ingestre Street and the natural route to her home in Keith Street.

Concerning the sighting of a woman carrying a bottle or can around 4.15 a.m. on Friday, 7 January 2005, a woman has responded to the publicity and we are closer to establishing that it was her and not Tania. This is very helpful to the enquiry.

We are also making a plea for the male wearing a white shirt and dark trousers, who was in the area between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.

We are very interested in identifying the four door sedan parked on the river side of the road, north of Somme Parade and Pitt Street, near the palm trees, and speaking to the occupants and/or the owner of this vehicle.

It would be of assistance to eliminate this from the enquiry or if it is the offender(s) vehicle, the enquiry team wants other sightings of this to assist the Operation Somme homicide team to prosecute Tania’s killer.
