Aljazeera: Bomb destroys Baghdad police station

Aljazeera: Baghdad’s main police station exploded after a probable car bomb ripped through the building, injuring at least two policeman.

Witnesses said the huge explosion shredded the Rasafa police station shortly after 11:00 am (07:00 GMT) on Tuesday, starting a large fire and sending clouds of black smoke spiralling into sky.

First Lieutenant Nihad Majid told journalists the blast was caused by a car bomb.

Our correspondent, Jawad al-Umari, believes between seven and 10 people were injured, one seriously.
