Military Curfew Stops Children Attending School

International Peace Activists Accompany Teachers to School in Talluza

Children Unable to Attend School Due to Military Curfew

At 7:00AM international peace activists will accompany teachers from the village of Asira Ash Shamliya to schools in Talluza, where additional activists will be present.

For the past seven days the children of Talluza, near Nablus, have been unable to attend school and teachers have been barred from reaching the schools due to the Israeli army imposed curfew.

The Israeli army has surrounded Talluza and has not allowed teachers from nearby villages to enter and conduct classes in the schools. Palestinian families and their children have attempted to reach the schools but have been turned away at gun point by the Israeli army.

According to the Israeli army, the children are able to attend classes. However, according to local residents and international activists this is not true and tomorrow they will attempt to facilitate safe passage for the children and their teachers.

On Sunday they plan to provide safe passage for doctors and other medical personnel.
