Call For Trustees

24 July 2001

Manukau City Council is calling for nominations for trustees to the Manukau Beautification Charitable Trust.

The Trust has been set up to eradicate graffiti and litter, educate the community about litter and graffiti prevention, encourage community participation in civic beautification programmes, and work with other organisations to carry out programmes of civic beautification and image improvement in Manukau.

Mayor Sir Barry Curtis says that the Council is looking for people who will help the Trust achieve a balance of skills and experience in trust governance, business skills and experience, sales, marketing and communication skills, an involvement in the local community and a commitment to civic beautification.

“We particularly welcome applications from representatives of the different cultural groups that make up our diverse community.. Candidates should live or work in Manukau or have an association with the community, and have a passion for improving the city image” says Sir Barry.

If you’re interested in becoming a Trustee, contact Sarah Boswell on 09 262 8900 ext 8742 for an information pack. Expressions of interest close on Thursday 16 August 2001.
