Aerial Operation Against PAM Completed
Aerial Operation Against The Painted Apple Moth Completed
The aerial operation against the painted apple moth was completed at just before 8.00 am this morning.
The second extended aerial operation to wipe out the painted apple moth took three mornings to complete. Each day flying was suspended between 8-9.00 am, 12.15-1.00 pm and 3-4.00 pm to try and avoid children walking to school and having lunch.
General Manager of the Painted Apple Moth Operation, Robert Isbister said: “We’re pleased that we have been able to finish the aerial operation early this morning. Its fortunate the weather remained on our side allowing us to finish the final part of the zone in just under two hours.”
The aerial operation targets approximately 8,000 hectares and around 40,000 properties in west Auckland.
The next aerial operation is scheduled for Monday 2 December – weather permitting.
