Auckland City to celebrate final link in north-western cycleway
Auckland City Council will be celebrating the completion of the north-western cycleway with an official opening at noon on Thursday 19 February.
Auckland City’s Mayor, Hon John Banks, will officially open the cycleway at the UNITEC campus, near the Great North Road cycle overbridge.
The 9km mainly off-road cycleway improves safety and access for cyclists along the western transport corridor, including UNITEC, Point Chevalier Shopping Centre, Pasadena Intermediate School, Newton Central School, Western Springs College, Auckland Zoo, Museum of Transport and Technology, Western Springs Park and Western Springs Stadium.
The opening event has been timed to recognise
National Bike Week which runs from 16 to 22
February.
