Media Release 21 April 2004
Community Facilities Partnership Scheme Workshops
Manukau City Council is pleased to announce it is running a series of workshops throughout the city to help community organisations when applying for funding through the Community Facilities Partnership Scheme.
Organisations wishing to extend clubrooms, construct a purpose-built community facility, or extend carparking and play surfaces requirements can apply through the scheme which makes funding available in the form of grants to assist with the development of multi-use community facilities. The proposed projects must be located on Council Reserve land.
Kim Squire, Council's Funding Co-ordinator says, "In the past there has been some confusion over certain aspects of the process, so this year I have been running workshops to assist potential applicants about application procedures and eligibility."
Free 2 hour workshops will be held at: Whitford Hall, 4 May 10am; Otara Community Offices, 6 May 10am; Howick Library, 11 May 1pm; Pakuranga Library, 13 May 10am; Mangere Library, 18 May 10am; Manurewa CAB, 25 May 10am; and Papatoetoe Town Hall, 28 May 10am.
Application forms are also available on the website www.manukau.govt.nz/forms.htm
