Auckland City's new CEO appointed by August
Auckland City Council last night decided to start the search for a new chief executive. The current CEO, Bryan Taylor, relinquishes his position in June 2005.
Deputy Mayor David Hay says it is important that the council sets in train a process to find a replacement as soon as possible to ensure an orderly and smooth transition.
“Auckland city is New Zealand’s largest and most important city. It needs a CEO who is highly skilled, a top class leader and someone passionate about contributing to the future development of the city,” he says.
The specialist executive recruitment company, Sheffield, has been appointed to help with the selection.
Auckland City has established a bi-partisan subcommittee to help manage the selection process.
The position will be
advertised both in New Zealand and overseas, with a view to
confirming an appointment by the end of August this
year.
