Police patrols at Paremuka Lakeside
Solutions are being found for the residents of Paremuka Lakeside as the result of a petition presented to the Waitakere Community Board last month.
Waitakere Community Board Chairwoman Christine Shepherd has met police and raised concerns about speeding and late night parties on the reserve. She says that police have acknowledged the problem and have increased their patrol activity in the area.
There was also concern about maintenance of the lakeside area from residents.
Community Board members have been working to solve the problems. Board Member and Chairman of the Western Heights Residents and Ratepayers Association David Hallett met with ratepayers to work out possible solutions.
Mrs Shepherd says developers of the adjacent subdivisions
are required to put road calming measures in as part of
their development. This includes speed humps. Mrs Shepherd
says she will be following up on the compliance of
this.
