Work continues at Matiatia
Work has begun to reinstate the trench along Ocean View
Road between the Matiatia Ferry Terminal and the sewage
treatment plant.
The reinstatement work will see the
road surface removed and replaced in four stages of
approximately 120m each.
While work is underway,
vehicles will not be able to park along the roadside between
6am and 6pm weekdays. Signage will be in place to notify
drivers.
The work is scheduled to be completed by 11
November. Adams Landscape Ltd will be completing the work on
behalf of Auckland City.
The trench was temporarily
reinstated after the installation of rising main for the
sewer pump in February 2004.

Gordon Campbell: On the Sony cyber attack
Given the layers of meta-irony involved, the saga of the Sony cyber attack seemed at the outset more like a snarky European art film than a popcorn entry at the multiplex.
Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
