CMJ traffic bulletin: Friday 29 October until Thursday 4 November

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 1
Full motorway closures:
Friday 29 October - CLOSED - overnight from 10pm until 8am on Saturday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St and Grafton Rd
Detour: off at Cook St off-ramp and on at Wellesley St on-ramp.

Sunday 31 October - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Monday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St and St Marks Rd
Detour: off at Cook St off-ramp and on at St Marks Rd on-ramp.

Monday 1 November - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Tuesday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St and St Marks Rd
Detour: off at Cook St off-ramp and on at St Marks Rd on-ramp.
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd and Wellington St
Detour: off at Market Rd off-ramp and on at Wellington St on-ramp.

Tuesday 2 November - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Wednesday:
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd and Wellington St
Detour: off at Market Rd off-ramp and on at Wellington St on-ramp.

Wednesday 3 November - CLOSED - Closed 11pm to 4am
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd and Wellington St
Detour: off at Market Rd off-ramp and on at Wellington St on-ramp.

Thursday 4 November - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Friday:
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd and Wellington St

Ongoing motorway lane closures:
There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the Symonds St overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until 2005.

Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.

CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Monday 1 November through to Wednesday 3 November - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 6am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp.

If required an additional closure will take place on the night of Thursday 4 November 2004.

Motorists are requested to follow the signposted detour while the closures are in operation.

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.

8.00am - 5.30pm, Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Saturdays 10:00am - 12:00pm and the first Sunday of each month 10:00am - 12:00pm.
