Family orienteering event at Bottle Lake this weekend

This Sunday, 19 February, families will be able to explore Bottle Lake Forest and at the same time be introduced to the challenging world of orienteering.

Armed with little more than a map detailing the area, families will have to find a series of checkpoints before returning to base camp to see how well their time stacks up against others.

Participants can complete the course either on foot or by mountain bike.

Members from the Peninsula and Plains Orienteering Club will be on hand to assist entrants to the free SummerTimes event supported by the Burwood/Pegasus Community Board.

The event runs from 10am-2pm with staggered starts between 10am-noon.
