Mass Public Opposition to Tolling

Mass Public Opposition to Tolling Western Ring Route

"People are joining forces in a mass opposition to tolling the Western Ring Route" says Elaine West of RAM - Residents Action Movement.

"The people of Auckland are being lied to, blackmailed and coerced by officials and politicians into accepting tolls on roads."

"To counter the official push to toll roads, RAM is sending a sample submission and Official Information Act request to individuals, community groups, unions, academics, students, and resident & ratepayer groups to help them unite around this issue."

"We demand that the Western Ring Route be completed as a free and open road under public ownership and management, at least by 2015."
