He has refused to elaborate on what that evidence was but says that Molloy has left her home address and she is now actively avoiding Police who are seeking her in connecting with this matter. He has confirmed that her house was one of several searched by Armed Offenders Squad members on Saturday afternoon prior to the shootings.

Police are also still seeking people who were on the firebreaks of the eastern hill above Lower Hutt on Saturday to contact them. Several member of the public have contacted police but other people were also in the area. Detective Senior Sergeant Cotter says "Police want to speak to these people as they may have seen something significant without realising it."

He says "We have received some information but more is needed. At this stage we don't know who this man is."
