Incident Type: snow

Winter has at last arrived in the central Otago area with heavy snow reported in the Alexandra - Queenstown and throughtout Central Otago up into the Lindis Pass.

Anyone considering driving into this area is asked to reconsider their travel plans and anyone in the above mentioned area are asked NOT to travel unless necessary.Queenstown Police describe the snow in the town as impossible for cars to drive on and even four by four vehicles with chains are having trouble moving
