Key Transport Strategies Published
Key transport strategies published
Two key blueprints for transport in the Wellington Region were formally published today. Copies of the Regional Land Transport Strategy and the Regional Passenger Transport Plan will be widely available in libraries, council offices and can be viewed on Greater Wellington's website.
Members of the regional land transport committee were among the first to receive printed copies of the transport strategy at a meeting today.
Around $2649m is estimated to be available to implement key transport programmes contained in the strategy over the next ten years.
All the projects will be assessed against the strategy's key criteria - including boosting economic development, improving safety, access and reliability, promoting health and environmental sustainability.
In addition, the regional passenger transport plan sets out Greater Wellington's intentions for the regional passenger transport system over the next 10 years.
It is designed to complement the strategy and sets out key transport funding and delivery targets.
