A man will appear in the Palmerston North District Court this afternoon on joint charges under the Arms Act following a series of search warrants executed in various parts of the country.
Detective Inspector Harry Quinn, Wellington District Crime Services Manager, said it was inappropriate to comment further on the man arrested as the matter is now before the court.
The arrest is part of a national operation in which search warrants were executed in Auckland, the Bay of Plenty, Wellington and Christchurch.
Police arrested and charged four people in Wellington. A search warrant was executed in Christchurch but no arrests made.
