New Zealand Police Alert 17:00 9-01-2008 Bay of Plenty

Location of incident: Ohope, Whakatane

Incident Type: Drowning

At approximately 3.35pm this afternoon a 62 year old male drowned while surfing in the sea off Ohope Beach, Whakatane.

Police are currently attending the incident and have ascertained the victim lived locally.
