OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE OF

Otago Polytechnic Students’ Association

(OPSA)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 17/02/2009

Support for $3 taxi grows

The Otago Polytechnic Students Association is pleased to announce a third Sponsor for the $3 student taxi system today. Arrow International has matched the individual funding by OPSA and Otago Polytechnic.

“OPSA is excited to be able to offer students this deal, and having support from groups such as Arrow International is a wonderful help” OPSA Co-President Meegan Cloughley said today.

“The $3 Taxi’s have gained a lot of interested from students and media, and the positive feedback has been wonderful” Ms Cloughey Added.

“Arrow International has a strong relationship with both Otago Polytechnic and OPSA and work hard to ensure student safety around our building sites, we see this as an opportunity to extend that to helping students get home safely too.” Arrow International Project Manager Brian Shea said today.

”It's also about saying thank you, there has been some inconvenience to students during the construction of the two sites and their flexibility and understanding during this period have been outstanding so it's nice to give something back". “

The $3 Taxis are running for all Otago Polytechnic Students, until the 6th of March, and are being operated by local taxi company Dunedin Taxis.  Students require a voucher to use the scheme, which is available from the OPSA office (upstairs in the Student Centre on on Harbour Terrace).
