Residents in low-lying areas of the Coromandel coast are
being urged to move to higher ground NOW because of a
potential one-metre high tsunami due to hit shortly (at
approx 9.45am NZ time).
Fire service staff have been
driving around urging these residents to move, and
harbourmasters are being told by Environment Waikato not to
move on the water.
People in the area are being urged to
listen to Coromandel FM or a national radio network for
further information.
