Fatal Car Crash in Hamilton

Police are attending the scene of a fatal crash on Rotokauri Road in Nawton, Hamilton.

The head-on crash, involving a car and a HiLux utility vehicle, occurred just before 5.00pm on a bend near the intersection with Baverstock Road.

One person appears to have died immediately and two others have been taken to Waikato hospital in a stable condition. The nature of their injuries cannot be confirmed at this stage.

Diversions are in place and are not affecting traffic flow unduly.

The Te Rapa Serious Crash Unit is conducting the crash investigation and any further releases will be made through their office.
