Lower Hutt Police seeking information relating to Waiwhetu gunfire incident last week
Lower Hutt Police are continuing the hunt for the firearms involved in an incident in Waiwhetu last week.
Shortly before midnight on Tuesday 24 August, residents around the Cambridge Terrace and Hawkins Street area reported hearing gunfire, with Police recovering some spent cartridges soon after.
Detective Sergeant Mike Sears says Police have executed a number of search warrants on properties in recent days in an attempt to recover the firearms involved.
"We are urging anyone who has any information on the people involved in this incident last week or who know the whereabouts of any firearms, to come forward as soon as possible. Any information will be treated confidentially by Police."
