A Queenstown television first

A Queenstown television first

A national television campaign on TV1 and TV2 encouraging more Kiwis to visit Queenstown this spring and summer kicks off this Sunday (5 September).

It’s the first time Destination Queenstown is running a 30-second television commercial (TVC) as part of a domestic seasonal marketing campaign.

Destination Queenstown’s General Manager of Marketing Graham Budd believes it’s really exciting to be demonstrating to the rest of the country “how awesome our home is” through the television medium.

“The commercial will be particularly important in inspiring people to come here,” he says. “It’s an effective way for a large audience to get a sense of Queenstown’s dramatic scenery, its unique experiences and the buzz of being here.”

The TVC is designed to encapsulate Queenstown’s diversity of experiences and showcase the lake and alpine resort as a compelling fly/drive spring and summer holiday destination.

Air New Zealand is partnering the campaign and it will be supporting the message through its extensive communication channels.

Spring and summer in Queenstown offers a huge range of world-class adventure activities, fishing, golf, wineries, luxury spas, art galleries, heritage trails, and a vibrant dining and social scene. It’s also a great season to explore the region’s world-renowned hiking and biking trails.

Queenstown was recently voted Number 1 ‘Outdoor and Adventure Destination in the World’ by Trip Advisor’s 2010 Travellers’ Choice awards.
