Westfield Pledges NZ$250,0000 In Support Of Mayoral Relief Fund
“Westfield has announced that they will donate NZ$250,000 to the Christchurch Mayoral Relief Fund set up to assist the City and its people following yesterday’s devastating earthquake.
Westfield New Zealand Director Justin Lynch said today, “In support of the community we are donating these funds. These funds are the most direct way we can assist the people of Christchurch. Closer to home we are focused on getting Westfield Riccarton up and running and assisting our customers and retailers.
After hearing of the establishment of the fund last night, our Group Managing Director, Mr Steven Lowy was quick to authorise a sum of $250,000 toward the fund.
All Westfield shopping centres around New Zealand will also become collection points for those who can donate or spare a coin towards this Mayoral fund. Collection boxes will be in place from Noon on Monday 6 September at all our centre customer services desks”.
