Food Outlet Owners Advised On Water Quality
Food outlet owners in Christchurch are advised not to open at all if tap water in their premises is murky.
The Council further advises café, restaurants owners or any food provider thinking to open for business to take extra measures as far as food preparation is concerned.
The precautions to take if your water is clear and you are opening for business:
* Use only bottled table water
* Water should continue to be boiled until advised otherwise by Council. This includes water for use in coffee machines.
* Use boiled or bottled water for food preparation and food hygiene.
Christchurch City Council is still assessing the water and sewerage situation and are arranging temporary pumping stations or tankers to supply water to those without water.
