Westfield Riccarton Resumes Trading Today

WESTFIELD RICCARTON RESUMES TRADING TODAY

CHRISTCHURCH: Westfield Riccarton resumed trade at 9am today (Thursday 9 September 2010) following the earthquake after-shock that took place yesterday (Wednesday 8 September 2010).

PAK N Save was able to commence trading on Wednesday 8 September and with the exception of Farmers, Rebel Sport, Hoyts Cinemas and the Café Court located on Level 2 the majority of stores have resumed trade.

Farmers, Rebel Sport, and Hoyts Cinemas and the Level 2 Cafe Court are expected to open in the next few days.

"Many of Westfield Riccarton staff and retailers are also coping with their own personal and family issues following the earthquake and need time focus on those. In recognition of this, Westfield Riccarton will be not open for late night trade tonight and Friday 10 September."
To help the people of Christchurch and Canterbury rebuild after the quake, a pledge of $250,000 has been made by Westfield. This will be provided to the Mayoral Relief Fund which is supporting the Canterbury Earthquake appeal.

In support of the community, donations for this appeal are being accepted at all Westfield Centres across New Zealand.”
