Taupō businesses get ready to shine

Taupō businesses encouraged to ‘Get Ready to Shine’

Enterprise Lake Taupō and Towncentre Taupō have joined forces to deliver a motivational business workshop later this month.

Entitled ‘Get Ready to Shine!’, the evening workshop will address four different topics; Customer Service, Marketing, Manaakitanga, and getting Visitor Ready.

“We know that is has been a hard winter for many Taupō businesses,” said Kylie Hawker, General Manager of Towncentre Taupo. “We thought spring was a great time to bring our local business people together and encourage them to polish up on some business skills before the visitor season arrives.”

The ‘Get Ready to Shine’ workshop is being held at the Taupō Yacht Club on Thursday 23 September, from 5.15pm.

“Anyone who is doing business in the Taupō region is invited to attend the workshop,” said Sue de Bievre of Enterprise Lake Taupō. “We want a wide range of businesses represented at the workshop, whether it be retail, hospitality, tourism, commercial, industrial, agricultural or professional.”

The line up for the workshop is:
Customer Service: We need our customers to feel special and Shane Wareham will share some simple techniques to ensure you deliver world class, to every customer, every time.
Marketing: Five tips to maximise your marketing budget and ensure your business stands out from the crowd. Kylie Hawker will provide you with five examples of affordable marketing activities that you can easily add into your business mix.
Manaakitanga: Te Ori Paki is going to share with us a simple explanation of the philosophy of Manaakitanga, how to deliver a genuine visitor experience, and why it is essential to your business.
Visitor Ready: The visitor industry is an essential component of the Taupō economy, and Tim Cossar is going to share with us some insights into visitor number predictions, the Rugby World Cup, the new Great Lake Taupō regional brand, and how Taupō can maximize the positives from the ETA.
The workshop is being jointly delivered by Towncentre Taupō and Enterprise Lake Taupō, with funding support from Taupō Chamber of Commerce and Westpac Taupō. There is no charge to attend, but registrations are essential as places are limited. To register, contact Towncentre Taupō on 377 0104 or email info@towncentretaupo.co.nz.
