Police kept busy with alcohol fueled violence

The Far North Police have been kept busy following a spate of serious alcohol fuelled offences.

An Auckland man has been arrested for the robbery of the Okaihau Bottle Store on Christmas Eve and Police are confident of arresting the female accomplice.

At about 8.15pm on Christmas Eve, a car load of offenders discharged several shotgun rounds at the front door of the house in Okaihau where the Auckland man was staying.

Police say that it was very lucky that no-one was seriously injured or killed and are treating the incident as an attempted homicide.

Police are looking for a 1991 Toyota Hilux Surf coloured blue, registration AKW941. The occupants of the vehicle are considered dangerous and members of the public should not approach the vehicle but report any sightings of it to the Police.

Anyone who has any information on any of these incidents or the vehicle are asked to urgently contact the Police Communications Centre or the Kaikohe police.
