PIMP, MR BIG and GOLD going under the hammer at Turners

Media Release 10 February 2011

PIMP, MR BIG and GOLD going under the hammer at Turners Auctions

A collection of 49 highly desirable statement plates will be auctioned by Turners Auctions on Trade Me.

From March 1st until March 11th , the collection of 49 rare and valuable number plates such as “GOLD”, “BLONDE”, “MAORI”, and “MRBIG” will be up for grabs.

“This is the biggest personalised plates auction we’ve ever heard of. Having single letters up for grabs, like the ‘T’ and ‘V’ plates is very unusual and for some people, highly desirable,” says Graham Roberts, Turners Auctions CEO.

Single letter plates have fetched extraordinary prices in the past, up to $400,000 for the highly sought after letter ‘A’.

The collection contains plates which will appeal to a multitude of people, including wily investors, collectors, business owners, and those simply wanting to make a big statement while driving.

Some of the plates going for up for auction are: SSSSSS, 2FAST, 69, ATOMIC, BIGTOY, BLONDE, CANDY, CULT, DB, DEVIL, DJ, DUKE, EGO, ELVIRA, ENVY, GOLD, GT, HITECH, HYPE, IDEA, JA, JETSET, KERRY, LOUD, LUST, MA, MAORI, MERLIN, MRBIG, OASIS, OMEN, PA, PARIS, PIMP, PSYCHO, PUPPY, RIP, SANTA, STEEL, T, V2, V, VIRGIN, WHITE, WITCH, XING, XPRESS and many more.
