Two dead, five injured in Foxton car crash
Location: Foxton Beach
District: Wellington
Police have closed Foxton Beach Road, Foxton as they deal with a fatal crash. Diversions are in place. Traffic will be diverted around the crash scene up Wylie Road to Himitangi. Due to the nature of the crash, Foxton Beach Road is expected to be closed for some time.
The crash occurred at about 5.00am on 20 Feb 2011 and has involved a single vehile which has rolled. There are two (2) fatalities and five (5) other occupants of the vehicle who have serious injuries and require medical treatment.
Police, Fire and Ambulance are still on scene. The Police Serious Crash investigation unit and photography is also on scene.
