Auction in Paris for Christchurch children

In Paris on 1 March, world-leading New Zealand amphibious boat manufacturer Sealegs is auctioning off the first of its limited edition All Blacks series amphibious boats and is donating all profits to Plunket families and children in the Canterbury region.

Jenny Prince, Plunket Chief Executive says Plunket’s current focus is on getting Christchurch based services up and running and to provide assistance to Christchurch’s families and children.

“Many of our Plunket premises in Christchurch have been severely damaged by the recent earthquake - some have been completely destroyed.

“Plunket sees nine out of 10 children born in New Zealand and the proceeds from this auction will greatly assist us to continue to provide a wide-range of services to young families across the Canterbury region and help give children in New Zealand the best start in life,” she said.

“The All Blacks, just like most New Zealanders, have had Plunket experiences and we’re thrilled to connect one of our All Blacks commercial partners with one of the All Blacks official charities. Plunket is a great cause and we wish them and Sealegs all the best with the auction,” said New Zealand Rugby Union CEO Steve Tew.

The boat is expected to sell for 50,000 – 60,000€ ($89,000-$107,000 NZD).
