Just before 8am
this morning a man was wounded in an incident on Hobson
Street. The injured man sought help from the Auckland City
Mission. Medical staff on site were able to provide
emergency assistance and contacted Police and Ambulance
services.
Auckland City Mission has closed its Drop-In
Centre at 140 Hobson Street, for the morning, in order to
give Police unhindered access while they investigate.
Mission staff continue to provide services and support to
clients through temporary facilities accessed from Federal
Street.
‘We are saddened to see such violence on our
city streets,’ said City Missioner, Diane Robertson.
‘but thankful that we had trained staff on site who were
able to
help.’
