Fashion spotlight on the Steel

Southern Steel netballers will be sashaying down the catwalk this Friday night (April 29) decked out in the latest trends.

The Southern Steel Fashion Show will be staged at the Ascot Park Hotel from 7-9pm with all 12 players modeling an extensive range of outfits by Invercargill fashion designer Warwick Woodfield and from H and J Smith.

“After the past couple of months battling it out on the netball court, we’re certainly keen for a night of glamour and girly fun,” Steel co-captain Wendy Frew said.

“It’s been really exciting trying on the outfits we’ll be modeling.”

Several of Warwick Woodfield’s creations have been inspired by the players themselves, including the `Daneka’ trousers and the `Erika’ dress.

In a special tribute to the royal wedding also taking place on Friday, players will reveal their own wedding dresses and various bridesmaid outfits. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials will also be shown live on the big screen at the fashion show.

There are also fabulous auctions and prizes on the night

Tickets cost $15 and are available from Netball Southland, Warwick Woodfield or at the door on the night.
