Botany Town Centre School Holiday Fun

Media Release July 2011

Botany Town Centre School Holiday Fun – Calling All Katy Perry Lookalikes

Botany Town Centre and Rokoko are encouraging Aucklanders to embrace all things Katy Perry these school holidays – blue hair, cupcakes and candy canes – in a bid to find the American singer-songwriter’s best Kiwi lookalike. The search celebrates the launch of Thomas Sabo’s brand new pop-art-influenced jewellery collection.

On Saturday 23 July, from 11am to 1pm, Katy Perry lookalikes are invited to visit the special Thomas Sabo stand in the Conservatory at Botany Town Centre, where they can have their photo taken next to a life-size image of the singer and go into the draw to win a gorgeous Thomas Sabo charm and charm bracelet.

Those who make a Thomas Sabo purchase at Rokoko on the same day will also go into the draw to win part of the Thomas Sabo collection to the value of $330.

Renowned for her quirky fashion sense and bright, bubbly personality, Katy Perry is the perfect match for Thomas Sabo’s fresh and funky designs, which this season feature colourful hearts and rock and roll motifs paired with chunky sterling silver chains.

If dressing up as a famous pop star isn’t your thing, you can try your hand at swinging a bat at the Baseball Roadshow in Market Square. From 10am to 5.30pm on 24 and 31 July, Howick and Pakuranga and Tepuru Coasters baseball clubs will be giving kids the opportunity to test their baseball skills. Coaches will be on hand to give a little instruction and using radar guns to register those great speeds.

The Whitcoulls Kids Zone will be helping to stimulate the minds of young ones with some awesome daily activities and Hoyts Cinema has a list of great school holiday movie releases that are must-sees, including:
• (3D) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2;
• (3D) Kung Fu Panda 2;
• Angelina Ballerina: Nutcracker Sweetl
• (3D) Cars 2;
• Thomas & Friends: Day of the Diesels.

“We’re delighted to be bringing some great school holiday action to Botany Town Centre,” says senior marketing manager Desiree Clark. “There is something for everyone, and the great activities are sure to keep the young ones off the couch and keeping active during the break.”

There are plenty of other activities to keep the kids amused, including:
• Go Vertical Bungy and Climbing Wall in Town Square;
• Hama Beads Activity Stall;
• Retro Photo Booth in the Food Court;
• Ronald McDonald Fun and Magic Show.
o Date: Thursday 28 July
o Time: 11.30am
o Location: Town Square
