Tastes of Korea at Whitby’s Restaurant

Tastes of Korea at Whitby’s Restaurant

Whitby’s Restaurant at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor launches the Korean Food Festival on the 27th of July 2011. The authentic, traditional tastes of Korea are being introduced to Whitby’s Restaurant and will be presented alongside our buffet favourites.

Under the watchful eye of guest Korean Chefs, our team will replicate some of Korea’s tastiest dishes. There will be a variety of traditional Korean dishes on offer including Spicy Cabbage Kim Chi, Japchae (glass noodle salad), Kimbap (Korean Sushi) and Bulgogi (beef and rice lettuce rolls) as well as an extensive dessert buffet.

The Korean Food Festival, running until the 14th August at Whitby’s Restaurant (on level 17 of the hotel), is one of six International Food Festivals taking place over the course of the year. Customers dining at Whitby’s can collect stamps in their “Passport” to go in the December draw to win a trip for two to Malaysia, sponsored by Malaysia Airlines*.

Michael Wigglesworth, Restaurant & Bar Manager says, “Wellington city is a cultural melting pot, visited by over 540,000 international tourists every year. Its residents are just as culturally diverse and it’s this diversity that The James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor is celebrating with another of its popular Food Festivals.”

Dinner buffet: $45.00 per person.
Dine between 5.30pm – 7pm and receive a complimentary glass of house wine, beer or juice.
