Exciting discoveries to be found on Flower Power trail
Bella the Bee is delighting
children of all ages this month as part of the Botanic
Gardens Flower Power discovery trail.
Flower Power is an adventure trail that explores the magic of flowers and is designed for children with different learning levels, aged between 4 and 10 years.
Starting at the Botanic Gardens' Information Centre, under parental guidance, children navigate their way through the gardens with the help of Bella the Bee who is illustrated in a fun discovery booklet.
"Children taking part in Flower Power will find all sorts of botanical treasures," says John Clemens, Curator of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens.
"They will learn about how flowers use "the birds and the bees" to grow new plants and they will also be able to peer through magnifying glasses, follow a sniff trail, paint with flower 'nectar' and solve a colour quiz," he says.
Flower Power, which started on Saturday, 8 October, will run from 10am to 4pm daily until Monday 24 October. Discovery trail booklets are available from the Botanic Gardens' Information Centre.
