South Island calendar raises money for CanTeen

A spectacular South Island calendar is proving to be the perfect Christmas stocking filler and raising money for CanTeen at the same time.

The 2012 calendar showcases CanTeen’s four South Island branches, highlights from its national programmes in 2011, the Bandanna Challenge, photos from the three South Island regional camps throughout the year and stories from a patient member, sibling member and bereaved sibling member.

CanTeen Marketing and Communications Manager Kimberley Waters says at just $15 the calendars are the perfect last-minute Christmas gift and also a meaningful way to show support for New Zealand’s young people living with cancer.

“Christmas can be a difficult time for many of our members who may be in hospital, away from family and friends or spending their first Christmas without their sibling. This is a great way to show your support for them and also grab that last minute Christmas stocking filler,” she says.

The full-colour, glossy calendars are $15 and funds raised will go to CanTeen’s South Island branches in Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill and their local member activities.

CanTeen is the only New Zealand peer support organisation for young people aged 13 to 24 living with cancer as a patient, sibling or bereaved sibling.

The South Island calendars are available now directly from CanTeen’s South Island branches or online from www.canteen.org/shop . Calendars bought online include $3 postage.
