Rescue
Coordination Centre New Zealand (RCCNZ) tonight advised that
the SPARTA rendezvoused with her sister ship CHIYO MARU No 3
where provisions and fuel were transferred to the CHIYO
MARU allowing SPARTA to develop an even keel.
CHIYO MARU has now returned to fishing and the
Korean Research vessel ARAON has continued on her
original voyage.
SPARTA is underway on passage to
New Zealand to undergo permanent repairs. Estimated time of
arrival to be confirmed.
RCCNZ will continue to monitor
SPARTA during her voyage to New
Zealand
