Christchurch City Council
facilities update
Christchurch City Council is
continuing assessments of its facilities following the
latest aftershocks. More facilities have re-opened today
(Wednesday 4 January).
Museum/Art
Gallery
• Akaroa Museum -
open
•
• Christchurch Art Gallery – closed,
including the Gallery Shop.
•
Civic Offices (53
Hereford Street)
The Civic Offices are closed until
minor repairs are completed. At this stage, it is envisaged
that the facility will re-open next Tuesday 10
January.
Libraries
Most libraries that were open
prior to the 23 December aftershocks re-opened
today.
They include:

• Belfast Pool and park paddling pools
are open.

• Housing
complexes with previous earthquake issues have been visited
and engineers are assessing specific units which are
considered 'indicator' buildings.

Hall, Harvard Lounge, North New Brighton Community Centre
and Ouruhia Hall are open.
