MEDIA RELEASE
Stratford Mayoral Bike
Challenge
This year’s Mayoral Challenge is scheduled for Friday 10 February from 4.00 pm – 6.00 pm.
The event is to encourage the Stratford community to get on a bike and try cycling as a fitter, faster and fun alternative to other transport.
The Mayoral Bike Challenge begins at the War Memorial Car Park at 4.00 pm for judging of the best dressed bike and helmet. There will be heaps of giveaways, games, prizes and one lucky participant will win a brand new bike!
Led by Mayor Neil Volzke the ride will leave at 4.30 pm and take in part of Stratford’s Carrington walkway, ending at the Scout Den.
Helmets are a legal requirement for riding a bicycle so please remember to bring your helmet to this event as you will not be able to participate without one. Also wear the appropriate safety gear and clothing.
The Mayoral Bike Challenge is apart of the national Bike Wise month held throughout February encouraging everyone to give cycling a go safely. It’s a great opportunity for local communities and families to enjoy and celebrate cycling with community leaders.
Come and join the Stratford District Council’s Mayoral Bike Challenge!
