Stolen car used twice
Police investigating yesterday's lunchtime armed robbery in Auckland's High St want to hear from anyone who has information about a stolen 2003 Subaru Legacy station wagon with the registration number BRT315.
The vehicle was used as a getaway car yesterday at about 12.50pm, shortly after security guards who were restocking an ATM at the Flight Centre on the corner of Victoria St. East and High St, were robbed at gunpoint.
The Subaru was stolen from Kohimarama on December 17 and was used by people who stole a handbag from a Henderson convenience store on January 19. It's not known if the same people were using the vehicle yesterday.
Yesterday's armed offender was wearing a balaclava - or similar - over his face. There is no CCTV footage from the scene of yesterday's incident but Police have footage of two people believed to be involved in the January 19 theft and want information about the identities of the people pictured [see below].
Police are in the process of interviewing a number of witnesses to yesterday's events but any additional witnesses who haven't already spoken to an officer should make contact with Auckland City CIB.
Attached are images of two people investigators would like to identify and speak to. They were involved in the January 19 incident at the Quiki Mart on Great North Rd in Henderson where the same stolen vehicle was used.
