Wairoa Police attend another fatal motor vehicle crash.

At about 10am on Saturday the 11th February 2012 emergency services were called to a motor vehicle crash on State Highway 2, Mörere between Gisborne and Wairoa.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash.

The sole occupant of the vehicle travelling south died at the scene. He was 54 year old Stuart SYMES of the Nuhaka area.

There were three people in the other vehicle travelling north.

Both vehicles required the assistance of the fire service to extract the drivers.

The driver and the front seat passenger of the north bound vehicle were flown to Hastings Hospital by the Rescue helicopter. They are also local people from Nuhaka.

Police Serious crash from Gisborne attended the scene and conducted an examination to determine the cause of the collision.
