State Highway Two, Te Puke, Western Bay of Plenty closed
At about 3.45 am on Monday 13 February 2012, a fully laden logging truck crashed on State Highway Two west of Te Puke in the Western Bay of Plenty.
The truck overturned and shed its load of logs across the Highway.
The logs damaged a power pole which has resulted in power cuts to the immediate area
Detours are in place along Te Puke Quarry Road and Manoeka Road to avoid the crash site.
Weather conditions are difficult with persistent rain; Police urge caution in the area.
Heavy lifting equipment will be needed to clear the road so delays are expected for most of the morning.
