Several Days of Isolated Downpours Possible
MetService is forecasting a few days of patchy rain and possible isolated downpours in many North Island places this week.
"A weak trough is expected to lie over northern and central parts of New Zealand for most of this week," commented MetService Weather Ambassador,Bob McDavitt.
"From Tuesday for a few days, this trough should bring rainy or showery periods, including the odd heavy downpour. At this early stage, it is hard to say where the heavy isolated rainfalls may occur."
MetService forecasters will be watching the radar closely this week. Check for any heavy rain or severe thunderstorm warnings on our website metservice.com, or on m.metservice.com for mobile devices. Regular updates on the rain will be posted on Twitter for those following @metservice and on the MetService TV section of our website.
