Man Charged In Relation To Crash
Oamaru Police today charged a 40-year-old South Otago man in relation to a crash which occurred in early September last year.
Timaru businessman, Mr Allan Hubbard, died as a result of the crash, which happened on State Highway One at Hilderthorpe about 8km north of Oamaru on Friday 2 September.
The man faces two charges - one of careless driving causing death, and another of careless driving causing injury to Mrs Jean Hubbard. He has been summonsed to appear in the Dunedin District Court later this week on Friday 17 February 2012.
The charges come after a thorough and robust serious crash investigation by Police.
As the case is now before the court, Police are unable to provide any further details about the crash investigation.
