Good Friday & Easter Sunday Dunedin City Shuttle Service

Good Friday & Easter Sunday Dunedin City Shuttle Service

As public transport usually comes to a grinding halt during Easter in our city, the Otago Heritage Bus Society Inc. have scheduled a passenger service between St. Clair <-> Octagon <-> Normanby to service one of Dunedin's most popular routes for the residents and visitors of Dunedin. This would be the first time a public transport service has operated in 30 years during Easter.

The scheduled service, which has been approved by the Otago Regional Council, will depart St. Clair on the hour and from Normanby on the half hour between the hours of 9am and 7:45pm. The last service will terminate at Cargill’s Corner at 7:55pm. The fare for this service will be by gold coin or Easter egg donations. Proceeds from our Easter service will go towards the Neurosurgery Campaign and our Easter egg donations will go to local food banks.

Since we do not usually operate a regular passenger service and usually only operate monthly excursions, we will be dusting off our heritage bus, Leyland Leopard 194 an ex urban Dunedin bus that was retired from its usual service in 2010, she has undergone all necessary safety requirements to operate as a passenger service vehicle and will once again be on our streets serving our community, just like she did in 2011 on Christmas day.

We are currently seeking volunteers to operate excursions, just like this one. If you are interested please email info@otagoheritagebus.co.nz.

New members and volunteers from all skill levels are welcome to join and can obtain further details from our website www.otagoheritagebus.co.nz
