National Youth Week Grant Allocation 2012

National Youth Week Grant Allocation 2012

The 2012 Youth Week grant allocations have stretched from Northland to Southland. The allocation process has been finalised with a total of fifty-two successful applicants receiving funding for Youth Week events.

Of the sixty-one applications, the fifty-two successful applicants demonstrated a variety of events which fit seamlessly with this year’s theme of ‘Love the Skin you’re in’. There was a diversity of events which were funded. Events included; Amazing races, talent quests, Rangatahi leadership wānanga at maraes, fitness programmes, sports days, family fun nights, art competitions, photo shoots and collages, song and dance routines and much more!

Brittney Schinzel, spokesperson for Youth Week 2012, said she is extremely pleased with the amount of applications Ara Taiohi and the Youth Week team received this year. The applicants who received funding had a high level of ‘Love the Skin you’re in’ quality to their events. It is enjoyable to know that there is a lot of thought and effort being put into the events to come. Youth Week will have a variety of exciting and inspiring events this year. I can’t wait to see how well they turn out!
